Anchoring - when an image by itself is ambiguous, it has no clear meaning then meaning is often attached through the use of captions. The name comes from the caption anchoring a message to an image.

Mythologies in Print Advertisement

White is used in this context for its connotations for ice-coldness and as a marketing ploy to make the colour of the product stand out more so the consumer is more likely to notice then buy it.

Pink has connotations of femininity of gentleness, though the fact that this is an advert directly aimed at men means its being used a direct contrast as a message for men to be dominant in "their world". Given how the background is completely white, pink can also be used as another ploy to get the attention of whoever walks past.
