The genre is folk rock. This entirety of the music video takes place inside of an empty ballroom decorated with streams of light whilst the band, Mumford & Sons passionately play to the emptiness. The camera constantly shifts from facing the singers playing to being at the back of them. The setting gives the video a country feel which is supported by the instruments played such as a banjo and double bass and the dress sense of the singers which consists of a shirt and vest, what appears to be platoons and a floral shirt. This sets Mumford & Sons apart from the stereotypes of folk singers by incorporating rock into their sound, setting a faster and more powerful beat which is not associated with folk singers that play at a slower tempo. Their dress sense vastly separates them from most bands who attempt to appear very clean and sophisticated. The video is performance as it focuses solely on the band's ability to play and sing but tells a story in its lyrics.

The genre is alternative rock. This music video is purely abstract as it solely revolves around the band playing their song in a studio with a blue backdrop and also a pack of dogs runs through the video. The camera never cuts from Weezer and rotates around the set, observing the chaos as they play further. The utter nonsensical nature of the video is supported by quite randomly short lyrics which are not intended to have a deeper meaning but only contribute to the idea that the singer's identity and sanity has slowly unravelled and he now feels naked. This video breaks away from stereotypes given the appearance of the band, in a MTV-quality music video are dressed in jersey's, shirts and shorts and their look is not what the general public would imagine a world famous band to look like given their timid and, bluntly, geek-like appearance.

The genre is acoustic rock. This music video is narrative as the lead singer sings a song dedicated to his good and bad times in life as we see the reflective moments of different strangers in their homes and streets. This breaks out of stereotypes as Billie Joe Armstrong is predominantly known for his work in the punk rock band, Green Day who are also known for their aggressive and outcrying music and he also keeps his punk look by wearing all black, a nose ring and spiked hair yet instead sings a very gentle and soft song.
