Representations - Subversion and Stereotypes

Ellie is a main character in the survival-horror action series The Last of Us, especially Part II where she is the central playable protagonist. She lives in a kill-or-be-kill world and travels with her adoptive father, Joel across a dead-ridden America. Unlike other female characters in apocalypse media, she is in her teens and has to be as ruthless as any other character in the series which contrasts with female characters being the voice of reason to contrast with her testosterone-fueled male characters. Also, she is gay but this was not revealed in the main story so they allowed her to develop as her own character who turned out to be gay rather than develop as a gay character.

In the fourth season of Dexter, the main villain was Arthur Mitchell - the Trinity Killer, an aged murderer in his sixties. The genius of Trinity is that he knows the stereotypes of elderly people and twists this to his advantage; publicly he acts benevolent and generous from his career as a school teacher, parishioner and family man as the perfect disguise for his twisted nature. He acts weak and frail as possible to conform to that stereotype of the elderly but he is secretly capable of feats of great strength and violence.

This is Carlton Banks from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air who is infamously known for his upper class status and "white" mannerisms and dress sense. He completely contrasted with the urbane and hip image of black characters that his cousin and his friends were like.
